Dictionaries

We provide two essential dictionaries.

Junior Dictionary

Junior Dictionary
Diving into the deep end without being able to swim is never a good idea, so we have created a Junior Dictionary – not based on age, but on a beginner’s level of development in your language learning journey.

This dictionary provides an image associated with each word to aid comprehension and memorability. Each word is also accompanied by a sound and the word’s home language meaning to ensure a total process occurs in the learning of vocabulary. To see the word, to hear the word and to understand the meaning of that word is the Junior Dictionary’s goal.

Main Dictionary

As you progress through Linguaville you will soon need to start referring readily to our Main Dictionary of 20,000 words. We believe to ensure accurate learning takes place each word is accompanied by the sound of that word.

All words show both home and target language translation, but where there are the same words with a different meaning, we provide a further description.

We also have the type of word shown as the rules of grammar develop, what is a verb, a pronoun, an adverb, etc.

Our Main Dictionary Screen is divided into two sections. You can look up words in the Translate tool to find their translation and meaning in both languages, then below can look up verbs to see them in their different verb tenses alongside various Pronouns.
